Who we are

What we collect, and only what we collect
The only personal information this website gathers is what you choose to type into the enquiry form. That is:
- Your name, and your partner’s name where you give it
- Your email address and telephone number
- Where you are based
- Details of the celebration you are planning — date, guest numbers, region, venue status, services, budget range
- Anything you write in your own words
- How you came to hear of us
Nothing else. This site sets no cookies, runs no analytics, and contains no tracking pixels, advertising tags or social media trackers. Nothing you do here is recorded or profiled, and no third party is watching you browse. This is why you have not been asked to accept cookies: there are none to accept.
Our fonts and images are served from our own domain rather than from Google or any other third party, so your visit is not disclosed to anyone but us.
Why we hold it, and on what basis
We use what you send us to reply to your enquiry, to understand whether we are the right studio for your celebration, and — if we go on to work together — to plan and deliver it.
Under the General Data Protection Regulation our lawful basis is the taking of steps at your request prior to entering a contract (Article 6(1)(b)), and, for keeping a record of enquiries we did not take forward, our legitimate interest in running the studio (Article 6(1)(f)).
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not become bookings are deleted within two years. Where we work together, we keep project records for as long as the law requires us to retain commercial and tax documentation, currently ten years in Portugal.
Who else sees it
We do not sell your information, and we never share it for marketing.
If you become a client, we will share what is necessary with the venues, caterers, photographers and other suppliers engaged for your event — guest numbers, dates, dietary requirements and similar. We tell you who these are. Beyond that, we disclose personal information only where the law obliges us to.
Our email is hosted in Portugal. Your information is held within the European Union.
Your rights
You may ask us at any time to show you what we hold about you, correct it, delete it, restrict what we do with it, or send it to you in a portable form. You may object to our holding it at all. Write to hello@vowsportugal.com and we will respond within one month.
If you are not satisfied with how we have handled the matter, you are entitled to complain to the Portuguese data protection authority, the Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados, at cnpd.pt.

The photographs on this site are used with the permission of the photographers who made them and the couples who appear in them. They remain the property of their photographers and may not be reproduced without permission.
